A few days ago I wrote some prefacing thoughts to this subject and now I'd like to add a few more words about what this topic entails. Just last week in the LA Times I read that the congress is considering a new way to increase healthcare coverage to children by taking the funds for the program from the social security benefits of the elderly. My first reaction to this idea was disgust, billions are being spent to support our "war", and children are no more or less valuable to protect and give healthcare to than adults or seniors. So why are they even considering it? Of course, the answer is clear. They are politicians and they are waving the flag while not acually doing anything.
